Sloppy Joe
Ingredients:
1 | pound lean ground beef |
1 | tablespoon olive oil |
½ | teaspoon salt |
¼ | teaspoon pepper |
1 | onion, chopped fine |
½ | green pepper, diced fine |
3 | cloves garlic, minced |
15- | ounce can tomato sauce |
2½ | tablespoons brown sugar |
1 | tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 | tablespoon balsamic vinegar |
2 | teaspoons mustard |
½ | teaspoon basil |
½ | teaspoon marjoram |
¼ | cup water |
Add olive oil to a large skillet or dutch oven. Brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Drain the fat, add in the onion and green pepper, and cook until veggies are softened.
Add garlic and cook about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered until it reaches desired thickness.
